  • 8-10 rice paper wrappers
  • 200g beef sirloin or tenderloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 cucumber, julienned
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • Fresh lettuce leaves
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Fresh cilantro leaves
  • Bean sprouts (optional)
  • Crushed peanuts (optional)

For the marinade:

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger

For the dipping sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • Sriracha sauce (optional, for heat)

  1. Marinate the Beef:
    • In a bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey or brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to make the marinade.
    • Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade and toss to coat evenly.
    • Let the beef marinate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  2. Grill the Beef:
    • Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
    • Grill the marinated beef slices for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness.
    • Remove the beef from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Then, slice it into thin strips.
  3. Prepare the Rice Paper Wrappers:
    • Fill a large bowl with warm water.
    • Dip one rice paper wrapper into the water for a few seconds until it becomes soft and pliable.
    • Place the softened rice paper wrapper on a clean surface.
  4. Assemble the Spring Rolls:
    • On the lower third of the rice paper wrapper, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a few strips of grilled beef, cucumber, carrot, red bell pepper, bean sprouts (if using), mint leaves, and cilantro leaves.
    • Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling, then roll it up tightly, starting from the bottom.
    • Repeat the process with the remaining rice paper wrappers and filling ingredients.
  5. Prepare the Dipping Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, peanut butter, water, lime juice, and soy sauce until well combined. If desired, add a dash of sriracha sauce for some heat.
  6. Serve:
    • Arrange the Grilled Beef Spring Rolls on a platter.
    • Serve them with the prepared dipping sauce on the side.
    • Optionally, sprinkle crushed peanuts over the spring rolls for added texture and flavor.

Enjoy these delightful Grilled Beef Spring Rolls as a light and refreshing appetizer or a satisfying snack. The combination of grilled beef, fresh vegetables, and the flavorful dipping sauce makes for a mouthwatering culinary experience.
